Vinyl design for artist Kevin Abstract's, 2019 album ARIZONA BABY. This hip-hop album takes an experimental approach to pop songwriting. It juxtaposes gentle vocoders (speech coding that analyzes and synthesizes the human voice signal) and acoustic guitars against accelerated “high-speed” production and rapping.

I wanted to design a punk style inspired vinyl with collage work, magazine cut-outs, and hand-lettered type to emphasize Kevin Abstract’s experimental approach with an analog sense.

The cutout inner sleeve with his hands across the middle is used to reveal the vinyl sticker of an orange as a fun elemental surprise for fans as a nod to the teasers in his music videos for the rollout of this album.

Using imagery and elements from this album’s promotion and music videos, I was able to design in a way that highlights his art and personality.
