Cercle

Identity, Print, Typography

Cercle is a live streaming company that produces unique experiences by organizing, filming, and broadcasting concerts in carefully selected locations around the world. The goal is to showcase cultural heritage and landmarks throughout the prism of electronic music and video.

For a hypothetical rebrand, the logo relates to DJ turntable decks of jogwheels and dials. In addition, it correlates with a clock and a handle calling back to different timezones as Cercle hosts livestream events across the globe.

Before

 After

I designed a custom-modular typeface called Fusion, using filled circles as the base unit and the inclusion of “fusion” nodes to support angles and curves in the letterforms. These “fushion” nodes are used to refer to how in electronic music the various sounds and tracks get merged or layered together.

There are two versions of this typeface, Fusion, which contains more “fusion” nodes to better highlight more angles and curves in the letterforms versus, Fusion – ALT, with more sharp and angled corners in the letterforms.

The posters to promote the company and upcoming events emphasize the typography along with its photographic style.
The first three posters showcase the idea of “Artist and [Landscape/Museum/Monument]” to emphasize the company goal of bringing together and promoting artists and unique locations or venues around the world using the seen above custom typography in context. The photgraphic treatment to emphasize electronic dance music in a bitmap texture.

The fourth to sixth poster showcase artist, Peggy Gou and location, the Pyramids of Giza. Using new typography and typographic treatment with expanding and condensing to emphasize how Peggy Gou is a multitalented artist. The photographic treatment with a linear and fabric like texture to refer to her fashion designer background with a “glitch” effect to relate to the digital space of electronic music.

The last poster displaying upcoming events for viewers to learn more about each individual artist.

I designed the website homepage to emulate the idea of music editing with the motion of the type to refer to audio tracks and layering. There is also the added element on the Events page where artist photos can be rotated by the user to convey spinning records on a turntable.

Potential Event: Peggy Gou Live at the Pyramids of GizaWayfinding Signage and Promotional Subway Advertising

The live event would include the stage design for Peggy Gou’s table in a pyramid shape to emphasize this specific event’s location. Along with this are the smaller forms to show directional wayfinding to guide the audience to the stage.
